Pa is a prefix (an affix used in the beginning of a word) to form a request or to ask a favor.
Paabot ng suka. Kindly hand me over the vinegar. Palagay diyan. Kindly put it there. Although it's already asked sounding less of a command, it is still can be softened a lot more by using "naman."
Pa is also the Tagalog translation of still and yet. When used to mean that an action is currently taking place, it is used along with a verb which is in the present form.
